What youll do
As a Sommelieryoull enjoy your work and take pride in delighting our guests:
- You willbe responsible for recommending our exceptional wines to our guests for everyoccasion during their day. This will includeselecting wines and creating drink lists managing stock as well asserving wine orders efficiently and in a timely manner all to ensure our guestsreceives nothing but the best experience
- Sometimesour guests have special requests involving dietary requirements winepreferences and even special occasions. Most of these requests are fulfilled byour Sommelier.
The itemsshared are the essence of a day in the life of a Sommelier but well make sureyou are provided with specifics on how we care for our hotel.
Theoperational hours of work are shift-based and may be subjected to change. Thesecurrently set as:
- Tuesdayto Saturday: 14:30 - close
- Sundayand Monday: Off

Essential Skills and Experience
- AdvancedWine Knowledge: In-depth understanding of wine regions varieties tastingnotes and wine service techniques.
- Experiencewith Food and Wine Pairing: Ability to recommend pairings that enhance thedining experience.
- CommunicationSkills: Clear verbal communication to interact with guests and explain wineoptions as well as collaborate with team members.
- CustomerService: Ability to enhance the guest experience by recommending suitablewines and responding to requests or preferences.
- TeamCollaboration: Working closely with kitchen staff and waiters to provideseamless food and wine pairing service.
- Problem-Solving:Handling guest concerns about wine or service in a calm and efficient manner.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- MentorshipExperience: Experience training or guiding junior sommeliers or waitstaff.
- AdditionalLanguage Skills: Knowledge of languages other than English to communicatewith international guests.
- Experiencein Fine Dining or Luxury Hospitality: Previous experience in aMichelin-starred or upscale dining environment.
