Job Summary
2 Month Contract With A Local Authority
Job Purpose
To provide a comprehensive and professional legal service across all aspects of adult social care law acting as a key source of expertise and supporting the Councils safeguarding responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver expert legal advice guidance and practical assistance on adult social care matters with a focus on Court of Protection work.
- Advise on related areas including ordinary residence duties under the Care Act 2014 local government administration and judicial review proceedings.
- Manage a full caseload of adult services matters including complex and high-profile cases.
- Undertake advocacy in courts and tribunals where rights of audience permit.
- Prepare and manage cases including drafting legal documentation court applications and reports.
- Evaluate evidence advise on legal procedure and support the conduct of hearings and trials.
- Provide timely legal support on child protection matters when required including evidence assessment and drafting proceedings.
Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor with relevant experience in adult social care law.
- Strong working knowledge of Court of Protection matters and the Care Act 2014.
- Experience handling complex cases and conducting advocacy where applicable.
- Ability to evaluate evidence prepare legal documentation and manage competing priorities.
- Excellent communication and advisory skills.

- Location: Redbridge London
- Pay: Bi-weekly payments
- Hours: 36 Hours per week
- Work Pattern: 2 days in Office Per Week
