Role Overview

A highly successful and inclusive secondary school in Birmingham is seeking a dedicated and engaging Sociology Teacher to join its vibrant Social Sciences department. This is a full-time permanent role focusing on the delivery of Sociology across Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5.

The post is open to both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced teachers looking to further their career. You will join a supportive and collaborative faculty focused on encouraging students to critically examine contemporary social issues theories and research methods.

Key Responsibilities & Requirements

• Teaching: Deliver inspiring well-structured Sociology lessons across GCSE and A-Level fostering critical thinking and analytical skills.

• Student Progress: Monitor pupil attainment maintaining high expectations for academic progress across all ability levels.

• Curriculum & Enrichment: Contribute to curriculum development and university preparation guidance including Russell Group pathways.

• Qualifications: Relevant degree in Sociology (or a related discipline) along with QTS or PGCE.

• Skills: Excellent subject knowledge strong classroom management and a passion for engaging students with real-world social context.
