Sociology Teacher Ealing

Position: Teacher of Sociology (KS4 / KS5)

Location: Ealing West London

Contract: Full-Time Permanent / Long-Term Contract

Start Date: January 2027

In this role you will be delivering high-quality Sociology lessons across Key Stage 4 (GCSE) and Key Stage 5 (A-Level). The department is known for its strong academic outcomes and engaging curriculum. This position is ideal for an experienced Sociology Specialist looking for a new challenge or an ambitious Early Career Teacher (ECT) looking to secure their next role ahead of the new year.

• Plan deliver and assess engaging Sociology lessons across GCSE and A-Level courses.

• Equip students with a deep understanding of sociological theories research methods and contemporary social issues.

• Prepare Key Stage 5 students thoroughly for A-Level examinations and university-level study.

• Maintain high standards of classroom management and foster an inclusive debate-friendly learning atmosphere.

• Monitor pupil progress providing targeted feedback and intervention where necessary.

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or recognized UK teaching qualification.

• A specialist degree in Sociology or a closely related Social Sciences discipline.

• Proven experience teaching Sociology at Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5.

• Strong subject knowledge across major exam boards (AQA OCR Pearson/Edexcel).

• Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for a new check).

• Full eligibility to work in the UK.

• A well-resourced Social Sciences department with excellent student uptake at A-Level.
