Social Worker Safeguarding Team S42 Triage

Liquid Personnel is recruiting Adult Social Worker for its clients Safeguarding Team (S42 Triage) in Somerset.

Our client based in Somerset is seeking an experiencedAdult Social Workerto join theirSafeguarding Team with a focus onSection 42 (S42) triage and enquiries.
This role sits at the front end of safeguarding where you will be responsible forscreening triaging and progressing safeguarding concernsin line with statutory duties. You will work with a range of vulnerable adults ensuring timely proportionate and defensible decision-making to protect individuals at risk of abuse or neglect.

What will your responsibilities be

• Triaging incomingsafeguarding concernsand determining whether they meet the threshold for aSection 42 enquiryunder the Care Act 2014
• Undertaking and co-ordinatingSection 42 safeguarding enquiries ensuring they are completed in a timely and proportionate manner
• Gathering analysing and evaluating information to informrisk assessments and decision-making
• Working closely with partner agencies (e.g. police health services providers and the CQC) to ensure effectivemulti-agency safeguarding responses
• Making defensible decisions regardingrisk capacity and safeguarding outcomes ensuring the adults voice remains central to all intervention
• CompletingMental Capacity Assessmentswhere appropriate and contributing toBest Interests decision-makingprocesses
• Identifying immediate risks and taking appropriate action tosafeguard adults at risk of abuse or neglect
• Ensuring safeguarding plans areperson-centred outcome-focused and proportionate to risk
• Maintaining accurate timely and high-qualitycase records reports and decision logs in line with organisational and legal requirements
• Contributing tostrategy discussions safeguarding meetings and case conferences
• Applying professional curiosity to ensure all risks are appropriately explored and managed
• Working within afast-paced duty/triage environment managing competing priorities effectively

Qualifications & Experience:

To be successful in this role you must have

Professional Qualification:

• MA BA BSc in Social Work Diploma in Social Work or CQSW

Registration:

• Must be registered withSocial Work England

Experience:

• Minimum2 years post-qualified experience including completion of ASYE
• Strong experience withinAdult Safeguarding including conducting or co-ordinatingSection 42 enquiries
• Experience working in atriage or front-door safeguarding serviceis highly desirable
• Experience managingrisk and complex safeguarding cases
• Experience ofmulti-agency workingin safeguarding contexts

Legislation Knowledge:

• Strong working knowledge of:
  • Care Act 2014 (particularly safeguarding duties under Section 42)
  • Mental Capacity Act 2005 (MCA)
  • Human Rights Act 1998 (HRA)
  • Safeguarding Adults procedures and frameworks

Skills

• Stronganalytical assessment and decision-making skills particularly within safeguarding
• Ability toidentify and manage risk effectivelyin high-pressure situations
• Confidence in makingdefensible safeguarding decisions
• Excellentcommunication and partnership-working skills
• Ability to workautonomously within a fast-paced triage environment
• High standard ofwritten recording and report writing
• Demonstratesprofessional curiosity resilience and sound judgement
