We are working with a national Facilities Management contractor who are a reputable fast-growing and forward-thinking business. They have a fantastic company culture are always looking to improve and develop and have ambitious plans to continue growing with the right people on board.

Due to continued growth they are looking to recruit a Small Works Estimator to join their Estimating and Quotes team based from their Newcastle office.

The business delivers planned and reactive commercial maintenance services nationwide covering areas including electrical building maintenance and small works.

This is a busy varied role responsible for managing a high volume of quotations across an established client base. The majority of works are smaller maintenance and reactive jobs alongside occasional larger works and projects.

You will take information provided through client requests and site surveys obtain supplier and subcontractor costs where required build accurate quotations and manage them through to submission.

The role is predominantly office based with occasional travel to sites where a larger or more complex job requires a more detailed survey before pricing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate quotations for planned reactive and small works across commercial FM contracts
  • Review client quote requests survey information photographs and scopes of work to establish requirements
  • Calculate labour materials access equipment subcontractor and other associated costs
  • Obtain and review supplier and subcontractor quotations where required
  • Prepare and submit clear client-specific quotations
  • Manage a high volume of live quotation requests across multiple existing clients
  • Use the companys internal systems throughout the quotation process ensuring information is recorded accurately
  • Track quotation status successful quotes unsuccessful opportunities and conversion levels
  • Maintain accurate records to support reporting on quotation performance
  • Monitor costs associated with quoted works and completed jobs to help maintain pricing accuracy
  • Liaise regularly with operations teams suppliers subcontractors and clients
  • Carry out occasional site visits where a more detailed scope is required before a quotation can be produced
  • Prioritise workload effectively while maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced environment

The Person:

  • Previous experience within Facilities Management building services construction maintenance or small works
  • Experience producing quotations estimates or costing works
  • Understanding of commercial building maintenance would be highly beneficial
  • Electrical and/or general building maintenance knowledge would be advantageous
  • Comfortable interpreting client requests survey notes and scopes of work
  • Strong numerical skills and good commercial awareness
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a high volume of quotations
  • Confident communicating with clients suppliers subcontractors and internal teams
  • Competent using Microsoft Office particularly Excel Outlook and Word
  • Able to work independently and take ownership of quotations from enquiry through to submission
  • Full UK driving licence due to occasional site visits
