Site Supervisor Primary School in Edgware

We are seeking a reliable practical and proactive Site Supervisor to join a friendly welcoming primary school in Edgware. The school is dedicated to providing a safe clean and inspiring learning environment for its young pupils and staff team.

This is a key position responsible for the security safety maintenance and smooth daily operation of the school buildings grounds and facilities.

• Site Security: Act as the primary keyholder responsible for daily opening and closing of the school grounds setting alarm systems and maintaining overall site security.

• Maintenance & Repairs: Carry out routine maintenance minor DIY repairs painting decorating and general woodwork/plumbing tasks to keep facilities in excellent order.

• Health & Safety Compliance: Conduct mandatory safety checks (including fire alarm testing emergency lighting water hygiene/legionella monitoring and playground equipment inspections).

• Grounds & Contractor Management: Ensure school grounds walkways and play areas remain safe and tidy (including gritting in winter); liaise with and supervise external contractors during servicing or major repairs.

• Janitorial & Facilities: Oversee cleaning standards across the site manage cleaning stock and cleaning equipment and assist with heavy lifting moving furniture and setting up halls for school assemblies and events.

• Experience: Previous experience working in a site supervisor caretaker facilities maintenance or trade role (preferably within a school or public sector environment).

• Practical Skills: Good working knowledge of general DIY skills (plumbing carpentry painting) alongside an understanding of basic building health and safety regulations.

• Attributes: Strong organizational ability high attention to detail physical fitness for active daily tasks and a positive approachable attitude around young children.

• Availability: Flexibility to manage keyholder responsibilities and split-shift patterns if required.

• Safeguarding: An Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or readiness to undergo a full DBS check immediately).
