Role Overview

A community-focused and supportive secondary school in Bradford is seeking a dedicated and reliable Site Officer to join their Facilities and Operations Team this hands-on role you will work alongside the Site Manager to maintain a clean secure and fully operational campus for students staff and visitors. You will take pride in keeping the school buildings and surrounding grounds safe presentable and well-maintained throughout the academic year.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine premises duties including unlocking/locking facilities setting security alarms and managing site access.

  • Perform day-to-day maintenance minor DIY repairs painting decorating and basic plumbing or carpentry tasks.

  • Ensure compliance with school health and safety standards conducting regular checks on fire alarms emergency lighting and water hygiene logs.

  • Manage school waste disposal keep pathways clear and safe (including seasonal gritting and clearance) and support room setups for assemblies and school events.

  • Assist in supervising external contractors and receiving deliveries on site.

Key Requirements

  • Qualification: Qualification Institution Dates (e.g. Trade Certificate / Level 2 Facilities Qualification Awarding Institution Year)

  • Practical experience in site maintenance caretaking facilities management or a relevant trade background.

  • Sound understanding of health and safety regulations COSHH guidelines and general manual handling procedures.

  • Strong practical problem-solving skills and a proactive flexible approach to daily duties.

  • Good communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a busy operational team.

  • Legal right to work in the UK.
