Job Title: Site Manager

Location: Manchester North West

Salary:per annum (dependent on experience)

Contract Type: Full-time Permanent (Year-round 36 hours per week)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced proactive and practical Site Manager to oversee the maintenance security and facilities management of our vibrant secondary school in Manchester. The Site Manager plays a central role in ensuring our campus remains safe secure and fully operational for our students staff and community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily maintenance repair and security of the school buildings grounds and plant equipment.

  • Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety legislation fire regulations risk assessments and COSHH standards.

  • Manage statutory compliance testing (legionella fire alarms emergency lighting gas safety) and maintain accurate records.

  • Supervise external contractors on site ensuring work is completed safely on time and to high standards.

  • Act as a primary keyholder for the school responding to out-of-hours emergency alarm calls when required.

  • Manage and develop the site support team setting schedules and ensuring efficient daily operations.

  • Execute minor maintenance and DIY tasks across the premises.

Key Requirements

  • Background in facilities management premises management or building maintenance (experience within an educational environment is desirable).

  • Working knowledge of Health & Safety legislation (an IOSH or NEBOSH qualification is highly advantageous).

  • Hands-on practical skills (e.g. minor plumbing carpentry painting or basic electrical knowledge).

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with staff contractors and local authorities.

  • Valid Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo screening prior to starting).
