Job Overview
Reporting directly to the Operations Director you will assume total responsibility for site management statutory health and safety compliance premises security building maintenance schedules and the direct supervision of caretaker staff. This is an autonomous high-impact role designed for a dynamic leader with a strong background in property maintenance estates or facilities management.
Key Responsibilities
Estates & Maintenance Strategy: Direct both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs across all school buildings grounds and utility plants.
Health Safety & Compliance Lead: Maintain rigorous compliance with statutory regulations including managing fire safety asbestos logs legionella testing records and regular risk assessments.
Contractor & Project Oversight: Source quotes manage external vendor relationships and oversee specialist contractors during term-time works and school holiday capital projects.
Security & Emergency Protocols: Oversee comprehensive site security systems (CCTV alarms electronic gates) and act as the principal emergency keyholder.
Team Leadership & Development: Lead mentor and rota a dedicated team of caretakers and maintenance staff to guarantee seamless daily site coverage.
Sustainability & Asset Tracking: Manage the schools asset register monitor utility usage to drive energy efficiency and oversee waste and environmental initiatives.
