Role Overview

A forward-thinking and community-focused secondary school in Manchester is seeking a proactive and skilled Site Manager to lead the maintenance security and facility management of their campus ASAP. Reporting to the Business Manager you will take overall responsibility for maintaining a safe secure and operational learning environment for staff and pupils across the school premises.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee site security unlock/lock routines alarm systems emergency call-outs and overall premises management.

• Manage planned maintenance schedules reactive repairs and general caretaker duties across all school buildings and grounds.

• Ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations statutory testing fire safety standards COSHH and risk assessments.

• Supervise external contractors trade specialists and internal site/cleaning staff to ensure high standards of work.

• Manage site operational budgets equipment stock and energy management initiatives to support school sustainability goals.

Key Requirements

• Qualification: Qualification Institution Dates (e.g. IOSH / NEBOSH / Trade Qualification Awarding Institution Year)

• Proven experience in facilities management building maintenance or premises management (preferably within an educational setting).

• Strong working knowledge of health and safety legislation statutory compliance and contractor management.

• Hands-on DIY and maintenance skills (plumbing carpentry general repairs painting).

• Excellent organizational skills leadership ability and clear communication skills.

• Legal right to work in the UK.
