Site Manager

Southern Water Framework Chichester West Sussex

Within our Environment Business Division (Water and Wastewater Infrastructure Engineering) we are seeking a Site Manager to support the delivery of water and wastewater projects across the Southern Water Framework.

In this role you will contribute to the successful delivery of multi-disciplinary civil engineering projects helping achieve strong outcomes across programme cost safety and quality.

What youll be doing:

  • Leading day-to-day site management including developing monitoring and delivering the programme
  • Ensuring compliance with health safety environmental (HS&E) and quality standards in line with company procedures
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date site diaries and project records
  • Building and maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders and subcontractors
  • Producing weekly and monthly progress reports
  • Managing sections of work including supervising and supporting the site team and supply chain
  • Reporting progress and performance to the Project Manager
  • Ensuring risk assessments method statements permit-to-work systems site inductions and safety briefings are completed
  • Carrying out daily weekly and monthly inspections in line with Business Management System (BMS) requirements
  • Ensuring quality assurance (QA) processes and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) are developed maintained and followed

  • Experience working at Site Manager level (typically 5 years or equivalent experience)
  • Relevant industry qualifications (HNC/HND or higher or equivalent)
  • Understanding of engineering and construction principles and practices
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and industry standards
  • Familiarity with water and wastewater treatment processes or similar sectors
  • Experience applying CDM health and safety responsibilities including managing design and technical risk
  • Relevant certifications such as CSCS SMSTS First Aid IOSH Environmental (or equivalent)
  • Confidence using IT systems including MS Excel and document management tools
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present information effectively
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Experience supporting coordinating or leading teams

Desirable:

  • Temporary Works Coordinator certification
  • Water hygiene training
  • EUSR (1 & 2 USC)
