Job Summary

SERVICE MANAGER MENTAL HEALTH FLOATING SUPPORT DONCASTER


Location: DN5 4HZ

Salary: 34980.00 per annum

Contract Type: Full-time Permanent


Main Purpose: To lead and manage the Mental Health Floating Support service and the supported living service at Morley Road ensuring high-quality person-centred support and effective housing management in accordance with Target Housing policies procedures contractual requirements and relevant legislation.


Job Purpose / Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead manage and motivate the service team ensuring staff are supported developed and equipped to deliver high-quality services.
  • Oversee day-to-day service delivery ensuring performance against KPIs contractual requirements quality standards and organisational objectives.
  • Take overall responsibility for service planning performance monitoring and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure effective supervision appraisal training and development of staff addressing performance or conduct issues appropriately.
  • Monitor staffing levels rotas sickness annual leave and service cover to ensure the service operates effectively.
  • Lead on audits quality assurance compliance and action planning ensuring recommendations are followed through within agreed timescales.
  • Oversee referrals assessments allocations tenancy sustainment risk management safeguarding and support planning.
  • Ensure service users receive appropriate support and are effectively signposted to health social care housing and other relevant services.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with commissioners local authorities mental health services partner agencies and other stakeholders.
  • Represent Target Housing at partnership multi-agency referral and other relevant meetings.
  • Monitor service user outcomes engagement support uptake and tenancy sustainment ensuring accurate records and appropriate reporting.
  • Lead on responding to complaints incidents safeguarding concerns and other service issues ensuring appropriate investigation recording and learning.
  • Ensure effective Health & Safety management across the service including compliance with relevant policies legislation and organisational procedures.
  • Ensure staff understand and comply with relevant housing care mental health safeguarding equality and health and safety legislation and good practice.
  • Support community outreach and early intervention initiatives particularly in relation to mental health services and access to appropriate housing.
  • Promote a strengths-based recovery-focused and person-centred approach to supporting vulnerable adults.
  • Manage and resolve tenant neighbour and stakeholder concerns in line with organisational policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the service operates within agreed budgets and resources identifying and addressing areas of financial or operational risk.
  • Prepare reports performance information and other documentation for internal management commissioners and external stakeholders as required.
  • Act as an ambassador for Target Housing promoting the organisations values and maintaining positive relationships with service users colleagues partners and the wider community.
  • Identify opportunities for service development and improvement and lead or contribute to relevant projects and initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as required to support the aims and objectives of Target Housing.


Person Specification:

  • Experience of managing or supervising services supporting vulnerable adults ideally including people with mental health needs.
  • Experience of leading motivating and developing staff teams.
  • Knowledge and understanding of mental health capacity care safeguarding and housing legislation and best practice.
  • Experience of working with external agencies commissioners local authorities health services and other stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of risk management safeguarding quality assurance and service improvement.
  • Strong people and project management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines and KPIs.
  • Excellent communication interpersonal and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to use initiative exercise sound judgement and make effective decisions.
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Commitment to delivering person-centred services and positive outcomes for vulnerable people.
