3 months contract with a local authority
Rate: 500 per day umbrella
Summary
- This is a 3-month contract position with a local authority offering a daily rate of 500 under an umbrella arrangement. The Service Manager will lead and manage a high-quality Childrens Social Care service focusing on safeguarding children and supporting families to achieve positive outcomes. The role involves providing strategic and operational leadership across teams handling complex cases child protection issues and looked-after children ensuring services are delivered effectively safely and in compliance with statutory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and operational leadership to Childrens Social Care teams.
- Lead and manage the delivery of high-quality social work practices across the service area.
- Foster a culture of excellence accountability and continuous improvement.
- Offer professional guidance and oversight on complex and high-risk cases.
- Establish and maintain clear performance standards practice expectations and accountability frameworks.
- Develop and motivate staff through effective supervision coaching and performance management.
Requirements:
- Significant experience within Childrens Social Care services.
- Experience managing safeguarding child protection looked-after children or family support services.
- Proven experience leading and managing multi-disciplinary teams.
- Recognised Social Work Qualification (Degree Diploma CQSW CSS or equivalent).
- Registration with Social Work England.
Additional Information
- Working hours are 37 hours per week.
- The role is based at Cambridgeshire Police Headquarters Hinchingbrooke Business Park Brampton Road Huntingdon PE29 6NP.
- Hybrid working arrangements are available ideally 3 days in person and 2 days at home.
- An enhanced DBS with Adults & Childrens Barred List is required.
- Payments are made on a bi-weekly schedule.
