Senior/Principal Civil Engineer

A well-established engineering consultancy is seeking bright enthusiastic and open-minded individuals to join its growing Drainage Infrastructure team in Cardiff. Working within a dynamic environment and supported by senior leadership the successful candidates will play a key role in delivering civil engineering design across a range of challenging infrastructure projects with a focus on Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SuDS) and conventional surface water drainage design.

This is a varied and rewarding opportunity suited to individuals who enjoy solving complex engineering challenges and contributing to high-quality project delivery. Key Requirements

  • 5 years experience in surface and foul water design and/or construction in line with Sewers for Adoption and Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB)
  • Degree in Civil Engineering (Masters preferred)
  • Professionally qualified or nearing qualification with ICE or CIWEM
  • Strong capability in 3D design and modelling software including MicroDrainage InfoDrainage AutoCAD Civil 3D and Autodesk ICM
  • Experience with Water Authority approval processes including S104 and S106
  • Knowledge of SuDS Approval Body (SAB) processes
  • Understanding of planning policy and infrastructure design requirements related to flood risk management
  • Ability to lead and support teams with varying levels of experience
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects and prioritising deliverables effectively
  • Strong stakeholder management skills including liaison with statutory bodies such as Natural Resources Wales and the Environment Agency
