The Mayors Infrastructure Coordination Service is working in partnership with the New Homes Accelerator London programme to help unlock barriers to housing delivery across the capital.

As a Senior Technical Project Officer you will play a key role in managing high-profile projects and technical processes that support the coordination of infrastructure and development. Working across the NHA and wider ICS team you will bring together key partners to help address utility connection challenges affecting housing delivery.

You will help deliver a varied portfolio of work combining project management stakeholder engagement technical analysis and policy development. This will include using innovative digital tools and infrastructure data to support decision-making monitoring programme performance identifying opportunities for improvement and helping to develop new approaches that create lasting change across the sector.

The role offers a unique opportunity to work at the heart of Londons infrastructure and housing agenda supporting projects that have a tangible impact on the delivery of new homes and the future planning of the citys infrastructure networks.



What your day will look like
  • Managing projects and technical workstreams that support the New Homes Accelerator London programme and the wider Infrastructure Coordination Service.
  • Building relationships with developers utility providers London boroughs government departments and other partners to coordinate activity and drive positive outcomes.
  • Using infrastructure data digital tools and mapping systems to undertake technical analysis and support project delivery.
  • Coordinating stakeholders with differing priorities facilitating discussions and helping to build consensus around solutions and next steps.
  • Monitoring project performance analysing data and identifying opportunities to improve processes and programme outcomes.
  • Supporting the development of policy best practice and strategic recommendations to improve infrastructure coordination and housing delivery.
  • Preparing presentations briefings and reports for senior leaders steering groups and other key decision-makers across City Hall and partner organisations.
  • Working with technical specialists across the ICS to resolve issues develop delivery plans and support the implementation of innovative approaches.
  • Keeping up to date with policy regulatory and industry developments that could affect infrastructure delivery and development across London.

Secondment Opportunity

Requirements
Skills knowledge and experience

To be considered for the role you must meet the following essential criteria:

  • Degree-level qualification or equivalent professional experience in engineering infrastructure development planning construction or a related field.
  • Experience of successfully managing complex projects or programmes including planning activities managing stakeholders monitoring delivery and achieving outcomes within agreed timescales and budgets.
    Experience of working with multiple stakeholders and building effective partnerships across public and/or private sector organisations.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure and utility networks with an understanding of how utility connection processes infrastructure constraints and related stakeholder interactions can affect development delivery.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience of gathering interpreting and presenting data and evidence to support decision-making performance monitoring and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including producing high-quality reports presentations briefings and visual materials for a range of audiences including senior stakeholders.

This role is based at London Fire Brigades Head Office (Union Street SE1 0LL).

GLA staff are hybrid working up to 3 days a week in our offices and remotely depending on their role. As part of this you will need to split your time between home working and coming into the office.
