Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Senior Structural Engineer to lead and manage a diverse range of schemes from domestic alterations and extensions to bespoke commercial developments.

As part of an accredited Gold Investors in People multi-disciplinary consultancy youll join a collaborative team where your expertise is genuinely valued with clear pathways for career progression.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform structural design calculations for steel concrete timber and masonry in line with British Standards and Eurocodes.
  • Lead projects from conception to completion ensuring design quality safety commercial efficiency and timely delivery.
  • Work independently on smaller projects or collaborate as part of a team on larger schemes across multidisciplinary disciplines.
  • Supervise trial hole investigations for refurbishment works and conduct visual structural inspections.
  • Mentor junior engineers and foster technical excellence across the team.
  • Liaise directly with clients design teams and contractors attending project meetings as required.
  • Contribute to business development fee proposals and tender submissions.

What We Are Looking For

  • Technical Expertise: Solid knowledge of British Standards and Design Codes with designs grounded in strong engineering principles.
  • Software Skills: Proficiency in design packages like Tekla CADS and Tedds (AutoCAD experience is a bonus).
  • Experience: Ideally 5-7 years working within a similar engineering consultancy.
  • Qualifications: Relevant Engineering degree. Chartered status (ICE or IStructE) or working towards/close to achieving it.
  • Mobility & Eligibility: Full UK driving licence with access to a car for business use and full Right to Work in the UK.
