Kent is looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Aberdeen Structures Team within our UK Consulting business. Our Aberdeen Structures Team provides a broad range of services across our Oil & Gas and Offshore Wind markets. We are the go to company for complex problems in design engineering integrity management structural analysis life extension and ultimately decommissioning.

Our structural teams work on some of the most exciting and varied projects in the offshore sector. This role provides opportunities to work across our structural offshore services including integrity design analysis and decommissioning. Flexibility is key with a varied work pipeline across our Oil & Gas and Offshore Wind markets. This is a fantastic opportunity to broaden horizons and engage with local clients while enhancing current skillsets.

Skills & Responsibilities:

• Thisisabroad-rangingrole acrossOil&GasandOffshoreWindprojects.Responsibilitiesmayinclude:
  • Leadingstructuralanalysisincludinglinearandnon-linearanalysestosupportdesigninOil &GasandOffshore Wind projects.
  • Leadingdesigncalculations;preparinginspectionworkbooks;conductinganomalyreviews;developingrisk-basedinspectionstrategies;andcontributingtolifeextensionstudies.
  • Leadingallphasesofoffshoredecommissioningfromearlyconceptdevelopmentthroughtodetailedengineering for removals.
• Plandevelopexecuteandreportoncomplexanalysismodelsusingarangeofindustry-standardanalysis software.
• Guideandmentorjuniorengineerssupportingtheirtechnicalandprofessionaldevelopment.
• Undertakebothassessmentofexistingoffshoreassetsandnewdesignprojectsdependingonbusinessneeds;workwillrangefromhandcalculationstolinearandnon-linearfiniteelementanalysis.
• Collaboratewithcolleaguestoidentifydevelopandimplementnewtechnicalmethodologies.
• Buildcommunicateandmaintaineffectiveclientrelationshipsincludingleadingclientfacingconversationsand delivering presentations of project work.
• Managepersonalcostandtimetargetstodeliveranefficienthigh-qualityengineeringservice.
• Prepareclearconcisehigh-qualitytechnicalreports.
• Workwithinhighlyexperiencedmulti-disciplinaryteamstoexecuteprojectssuccessfully.
• DeveloptechnicalandprofessionalcapabilitiesinlinewithKentcareerpathways.
• Workaspart ofanintegratedteamensuringclientinteractionandprojectdeliveryfrommultiple locations.

In addition to the responsibilities listed herein the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employees skills capabilities and role within the organization. Yourknowledge/skillseducationandexperience:

• EngineeringdegreewithhonorsorequivalentinCivilMechanicalorStructuralengineeringNavalArchitectureor arelated field.
• Ideally Chartered (ICE IMechE IStructE etc) or actively working towards chartership.
• Knowledgeofoffshorestructuralengineeringandrelevantoffshoredesigncodes.
• DemonstrableexperienceofcorecompetenceforSeniorEngineerlevelinatleastoneareaforoffshorestructures(Oil& Gas and/or Offshore Wind):
• 1)structuralintegritymanagement2)structuralanalysis3)structuraldesign4)decommissioning.

Communication:

• Excellent command of the English language in both oral and written communication and skills.
