Senior Software Developer Perl Developer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer with strong Perl development expertise to design develop maintain and enhance business-critical applications and services. The successful candidate will work within Agile delivery teams contributing to the full software development lifecycle while ensuring high-quality scalable and secure solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design develop and maintain enterprise applications using Perl.
• Develop scalable backend services APIs and integrations with internal and external systems.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Write clean maintainable and well-documented code following engineering best practices.
• Perform code reviews and provide technical guidance to team members.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues and performance bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product Owners Architects QA Engineers and DevOps teams.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning daily stand-ups retrospectives and backlog refinement.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipeline development and automation initiatives.
• Support application deployments monitoring and operational excellence activities.

Qualifications :

Essential Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on experience developing applications in Perl.
• Experience with modern Perl frameworks and modules.
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles and design patterns.
• Experience working with RESTful APIs and system integrations.
• Strong SQL and relational database experience (Oracle PostgreSQL MySQL or SQL Server).
• Experience with version control systems such as Git.
• Experience working with Linux/Unix environments.
• Knowledge of testing frameworks and automated testing practices.
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.

Desirable Skills

• Experience with Python Java or other programming languages.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure AWS or GCP.
• Knowledge of containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins GitHub Actions Azure DevOps or GitLab CI.
• Experience working in regulated or financial services environments.
