A high-performing grammar school in Dartford is looking for an experienced Science Technician to join its established technical team. This position would suit someone who has previous school laboratory experience and is confident supporting practical work across all three sciences.
Coordinate practical preparation: Organise equipment and materials required for daily Science lessons.
Support technicians: Assist with allocating preparation tasks and maintaining efficient laboratory routines.
Work across sciences: Support Biology Chemistry and Physics practical activities.
Maintain technical standards: Ensure equipment is maintained and laboratories are ready for use.
Monitor stock: Maintain inventories and place orders for consumables when required.
Support compliance: Maintain appropriate records and follow health and safety procedures.
Experienced technician: Previous experience as a school Science Technician is highly desirable.
Broad science knowledge: Understands practical requirements across Biology Chemistry and Physics.
Strong organiser: Can prioritise competing requests from teaching staff.
Safety focused: Familiar with laboratory safety and CLEAPSS guidance.
Good communicator: Can work effectively with teachers technicians and students.
Leadership skills: Able to support junior technicians and contribute to departmental organisation.
Academic school: A strong focus on Science and academic achievement.
Large department: Work alongside specialist Science teachers and technical staff.
Extensive practical provision: Multiple laboratories and dedicated preparation areas.
High practical engagement: Regular GCSE and post-16 practical activities.
Established systems: Structured processes for equipment preparation and safety.
