Job Summary

This is a senior delivery post working alongside the customers embedded representative in Wiltshire. You would sit between the project manager the customers representative and the sponsor and make the delivery real: the roadmap discussed the sprints planned and traceable the risks named while they can still be fixed.

The rhythm is weekly and honest a short summary of progress priorities dependencies and the issues nobody wants to raise. Toward the end of the contract you would run the handover sessions properly so what has been built stays maintainable after you go.

What you would be doing

  • Take an active part in the project roadmap meetings with the project manager the customers representative and the sponsor.
  • Review and update sprint planning within the deliverables for consistency and traceability across the sprint-based development period.
  • Write the weekly summary of progress priorities dependencies and the risks and issues identified.
  • Support the Q3 and Q4 2026 sprint and project meetings on site as directed.
  • Maintain the project tasking progress reporting comments risk identification and issue tracking.
  • Use the project documentation as the depository and planning tool and establish it where it does not yet exist.
  • Support the customers embedded representative remotely and in person.
  • Run the formal knowledge handover sessions before the contract ends so the work is continuous and sustainable.

What you would bring

  • At least ten years delivering communication and information systems in a defence environment.
  • A proven record of project programme or portfolio management on complex information systems applying it to the wider business using Agile and PRINCE2.
  • Focused programme plans with risk management used to solve problems before they land.
  • Good financial acumen budget management as a lever for delivery on time and to budget.
  • Requirements capture documentation and acceptance criteria written to be tested.
  • Development of static and mobile information systems in a fast-changing environment.
  • An understanding of how security and communications requirements shape system design.
  • Agile and SAFe methodologies and experience of service transition and service management.
  • Excellent spoken and written English and citizenship of a NATO nation.

Knowledge of UK defence digital and data programmes is highly desirable as is experience designing delivering and running networked static and deployable command and control systems.
