Were on the hunt for a Senior Privacy Analyst on a 6-month fixed term contract to join our team based in Haywards Heath West Sussex or Manchester Salford Quays.

At 1st Central we balance legal and compliance requirements with whats best for the business. We need someone proactive capable and operating at a senior privacy level who has extensive experience and can hit the ground running.

Were big on working flexibly - youllspend most of your time working from home with occasional visits to the office. But if you prefer to be in the office more thats good with us too.

Must-have skills to be successful in this role:

  • Data Protection & Compliance Knowledge Strong understanding of GDPR PECR and Data Protection laws with the ability to provide practical risk-based advice.
  • Analytical & Risk Assessment Skills Ability to assess risks conduct DPIAs review supplier audits and ensure compliance while balancing business needs.
  • Communication & Stakeholder Management Translating complex privacy concepts into clear actionable guidance for different teams across the business.
  • Organisation & Attention to Detail Managing multiple privacy-related tasks keeping policies registers and frameworks up to date and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Whats involved:

  • Youll assist the team in maintaining and maturing the privacy framework across the Group
  • Youll assist with maintaining the privacy framework within chosen application
  • Youll assist with maturing and enhancing privacy compliance across the organisation
  • Youll provide advice to the business on their obligations and good practice with privacy by design and default
  • Youll contribute to the maintenance of the Register of Processing Activities
  • Youll conduct comprehensive Data Protection Impact Assessments
  • Youll provide input to internal policies and procedures
  • Youll assist with writing reports for Committees
  • Youll conduct Reviews Monitoring or Testing as required
  • Youll review supplier audits and support monitoring
  • Youll undertake research keep abreast of changes and keep the team informed of changes to applicable legislation
  • Youll assist with the provision of data protection training across as is required
  • Youll draft data protection communications for the business
  • Youll assist in maintaining the data protection areas of the intranet
  • Youll provide support through advice in response to requests from data subjects to exercise their rights including but not limited to Data Subject Access Requests
  • Youll provide ad hoc data protection support as is required
  • Youll comply with the requirements and act in accordance with the Group Code of Conduct and Fitness and Propriety policies at all times
  • Youll ensure compliance with Company Policies Values and guidelines and other relevant standards/ regulations at all times

Experience & Knowledge

  • Strong/Proven track record for data protection and privacy experience in a professional environment
  • Experience in Financial Services is essential in insurance would be beneficial
  • A good understanding of technology including AI based technologies
  • CIPP/E CIPM ISEB or other privacy certification is not required but valuable
  • Good knowledge of GDPR PECR and Data Protection laws
