Senior Platform Engineer - Farnborough Hybrid - Security Cleared - Up to 79000

Were looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to join a growing engineering team delivering secure resilient and scalable platforms across cloud and on-premise environments. This is an opportunity to work on complex mission-critical projects where your expertise will directly contribute to the delivery of technology supporting the Defence and National Security sector.

Working alongside highly skilled engineers architects and technical specialists youll help shape platform strategy drive engineering best practices and deliver robust infrastructure that enables modern software development at scale.

• Designing building and maintaining secure scalable platform solutions across hybrid cloud environments.
• Developing and improving CI/CD pipelines to support efficient software delivery.
• Implementing monitoring observability and operational tooling to improve platform reliability.
• Working closely with Site Reliability Engineering and Operations teams to ensure high availability and resilience.
• Supporting incident response root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Acting as a technical mentor promoting engineering standards and best practice across the team.
• Collaborating with architects engineers and stakeholders to evolve platform capabilities and adopt emerging technologies.

Youll ideally have experience in:

• Platform Engineering DevOps or Infrastructure Engineering.
• Kubernetes and containerised platforms.
• Cloud technologies including AWS Azure or GCP.
• Infrastructure as Code using tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
• CI/CD tooling and automation.
• Platform security operational tooling and governance.
• Delivering complex solutions within secure or regulated environments.

Experience within Defence National Security or other highly regulated industries would be advantageous but isnt essential.

Due to the nature of the work applicants must be Sole UK Nationals and be eligible to obtain Security Clearance (SC) with a willingness to undergo Developed Vetting (DV). Some international travel may occasionally be required.
