Salary: Up to 27500.00 peryear(depending on level of experience training and qualification)
We have an opportunity foraSenior Pathology Coordinator to join their team of staff.
This is a full- time role for37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required tocover a flexible shift pattern.
Duties of this role include:
Lead the coordination of pathology services ensuring timely and accurate handling of diagnostic samples.
Supervise and support junior pathology coordinators and phlebotomy support staff ensuring service continuity and staff coverage.
Act as the primary point of contact for complex queries or service issues ensuring prompt resolution and escalation where needed.
Ensure adherence to national and organisational protocols for specimen labelling handling packaging and transport.
Monitor compliance with infection prevention health and safety and data protection policies across the pathology service.
Support audits incident reviews and implementation of action plans related to pathology performance and governance.
Applicants should meet the following criteria:
Experience working in a pathology coordination laboratory or diagnostics support role.
Strong understanding of specimen handling protocols and laboratory processes.
Excellent organisational and communication skills.
Leadership or supervisory experience in a healthcare environment.
Proficient in using pathology and clinical IT systems.
