Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Vargo is recruiting a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for an established engineering manufacturer. This is a hands-on design and product-development role reporting to the Engineering Manager - not a people-management or strategic leadership position.

• Develop mechanical designs for new products and customer-specific engineering solutions.
• Produce and develop designs engineering calculations specifications and technical drawings.
• Take concepts through feasibility prototyping testing and product validation.
• Investigate technical problems and improve existing products and designs.
• Work closely with manufacturing quality and other engineering colleagues to deliver practical robust solutions.
• Maintain clear technical documentation and support engineering change control.

You will bring strong mechanical design and product-development experience with the technical depth to take ownership of detailed engineering work. Experience in an engineering manufacturing environment and a practical understanding of how designs are built tested and improved will be particularly relevant.

A mechanical engineering product-design or related qualification is useful. The emphasis is on proven hands-on capability technical problem-solving and delivery rather than team leadership.
