Senior HR administrator
Job Summary
What will be my core responsibilities
The Senior HR Administrator plays a key role in supporting the delivery of HR services across the business ensuring smooth day-to-day operations while developing practical HR experience and capability. The ideal candidate will have strong organisation skills attention to detail and a passion for fostering a positive employee experience.
This role is ideal for someone looking to develop their HR career by building strong operational knowledge alongside exposure to advisory activity and HR projects.
- Support with all internal and external HR related queries and requests including coordination of the HR inbox monitoring daily and responding to or escalating queries as necessary.
- Administer employee lifecycle administration including contractual changes promotions transfers and leavers.
- Assist with ER cases to include taking notes in meetings and follow up actions and paperwork
- Support the maintenance and tracking of employee absence and pull reports as requested.
- Maintain accurate HR records and ensure documentation is compliant with GDPR and company standards.
- Assist with monitoring absence and probation reviews and other key people metrics highlighting trends to the HR Advisor/Line Managers and assisting with any follow-up activities.
- Assist with onboarding new starters helping coordinate HR inductions and ensuring compliance with pre-employment checks.
- Offboarding including completing termination paperwork and undertaking exit Interviews.
- Collate payroll changes including starters leavers absence and contractual amendments for review and submission with the wider team.
- Ensure HR systems are accurately maintained and support line managers in using the system effectively.
- Ad-hoc administrative activities for projects and queries to support and free up time for the HR Advisor and Head of HR.
- Identify opportunities to streamline administrative and HR processes.
- Support the implementation of new systems policies and people initiatives.
- Participate in projects as guided by the Head of HR.

Qualifications :
- Previous experience in an HR Administration role with exposure to the full employee lifecycle.
- Good working knowledge of HR best practice and UK employment legislation.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of accuracy attention to detail and confidentiality.
- Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships with employees and managers at all levels.
- Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office and experience using HR systems.
- Proactive solutions-focused and keen to take ownership of tasks and processes.
You might have:
- Experience within construction engineering facilities management or a similar operational environment.
- CIPD Level 3 or higher (or working towards) with a desire to continue developing professionally.
- Experience supporting employee relations processes.
- Familiarity with HRIS platforms such as Employment Hero.
- Experience producing HR metrics or supporting audits/compliance activities.
