About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Senior Health Care Assistant to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced care professional who is passionate about delivering exceptional person-centred care while supporting and guiding colleagues.

As a Senior Health Care Assistant you will play a key role in ensuring residents receive the highest standard of care dignity and support while contributing to the smooth day-to-day running of the home.

Key Responsivities

Deliver Outstanding Care

• Support residents with personal care hygiene mobility nutrition hydration and daily living activities.
• Promote independence dignity choice and respect in all aspects of care.
• Ensure residents' individual preferences and needs are met at all times.

Provide Emotional Support

• Build positive and meaningful relationships with residents and their families.
• Offer companionship and emotional reassurance helping residents feel valued and supported.

Support the Care Team

• Lead by example and provide guidance and support to care colleagues.
• Assist with staff supervision mentoring inductions and performance development.
• Participate in supervisions appraisals and recruitment activities where required.
• Administer medication safely in line with policies and procedures.
• Maintain accurate care records and support care planning processes.
• Work collaboratively with nurses healthcare professionals and external agencies.

Promote Health and Wellbeing

• Encourage residents to participate in meaningful activities that support their physical emotional and social wellbeing.
• Adapt support to suit individual interests abilities and personal goals.

Maintain High Standards

• Help ensure the home remains safe welcoming and compliant with regulatory standards.
• Contribute to audits quality assurance activities and continuous improvement initiatives.

About You

We’re seeking an experienced compassionate leader with a passion for elderly care. Ideal candidates will have:

• Previous experience working within a residential nursing or care home environment.
• Experience supporting or supervising a team.
• A caring approachable and professional manner.
• The ability to remain calm and effective in a busy environment.
• A Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care (or a willingness to work towards achieving one).
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Confidence using digital care systems and maintaining accurate records.
• Flexibility and a positive attitude towards teamwork and resident-focused care.
