Finance is looking for a Senior Data Analyst based out of Milton Keynes.


This role is on a fixed term contract until 31/12/2027.


This role is a 0.25 FTE.


We are looking for an experienced senior data professional who understands data management best practices and has a proven track record of delivering solutions at the interface between Technology Finance and business teams.

The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of financial reporting including profitability balance sheet and key financial and non-financial metrics together with a detailed understanding of the relevant golden data sources used within the organisation.


The role requires someone who understands the wider banking environment and is comfortable delivering through others including direct experience of people management.


The successful candidate must also have experience of managing complex projects and data deliveries including identifying and managing risks resolving delivery issues and escalating effectively to Director and Executive level where required.

  • Designing and implementing new data-driven processes using recognised golden data sources.
  • Developing new metrics reporting and insightful management information to support the understanding and explanation of Santander UK performance.
  • Ensuring the team operates effectively and in accordance with the Banks internal policies and relevant legislative and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensuring data and reporting solutions are fit for purpose appropriately controlled documented and sustainable.
  • Identifying managing and resolving data quality and data ownership issues with data owners and key stakeholders to maintain consistency completeness and accuracy.
  • Working collaboratively across Finance Technology and other business areas to establish and communicate an accurate and consistent single view of performance based on agreed data sources and methodologies.
  • Managing delivery across multiple stakeholders priorities and dependencies escalating material risks and issues where appropriate.
  • Leading and developing team members managing performance and conflict effectively and ensuring delivery through others.

Professional experience:


  • Expert-level SAS skills including significant practical experience of building querying manipulating and analysing complex dataflows (Required)
  • Proven experience working with AWS and Athena including the delivery of production-quality data and reporting solutions (Required)
  • Degree level educated (Required)
  • Experience in people-management including managing performance resolving conflict and delivering outcomes through others (Required)
  • Experience of financial reporting including management information profitability business drivers and key metrics (Required)
  • Solid numerical and analytical skills with the ability to investigate and explain complex financial information (Required)
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and good PowerPoint and presentation skills (Required)
  • Experience of working with senior stakeholders including the ability to communicate effectively at Director and Executive level (Required)
  • Experience of data governance data quality and control principles (Required)
  • Spanish (Preferred)
  • Background in risk reporting metrics (Preferred)

Salary Range:
53500.00 - 80250.00 per annum (depending on experience)

This salary range represents the expected remuneration for the role. Annual salary is based on a standard 35-hour working week. Actual salary offered will depend on skills experience qualifications and location.
