The Role
As a Senior Electronics Design Engineer youll require a strong understanding of Electronic Design Principles and will work closely with cross-functional teams including mechanical and software engineers to ensure all systems meet performance safety and regulatory requirements.

Day-to-day youll be responsible for the design and development of electronic systems and payloads for a family of Unmanned Target Vehicles within our QinetiQ Target Systems (QTS) department.

QTS is a wholly owned subsidiary of QinetiQ Group PLC specialising in the design and manufacture of a range of state-of-the-art Unmanned Aerial and Surface Target systems including the world leading Banshee target.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Electronic system design and PCB design
• Detailed low-level analogue and digital design to support both new and legacy products
• Production and maintenance of design records in accordance with company procedures
• Project Management
• Provide Technical Support to Engineering Trials Activities.
• Mentoring and assisting in the training of more junior electronic design engineers

Essential experience of the Senior Electronics Design Engineer:

• Designing electronic products
• Good working knowledge of PCB and component level circuit design
• Hands on experience of using electronic test and measurement equipment
• Competent in technical report writing
• Using structured and documented work methods
• Designing RF products (desirable)

Essential qualifications for the Senior Electronics Design Engineer:

• Degree qualified in a relevant field or have equivalent experience and have a minimum of 5 years experience in an electronic engineering development environment

This role is 37 hours per week based at our Ashford (Kent) site with a minimum average site attendance of three days per week. Travel to other QinetiQ and customer sites will be expected.
