Senior Delivery Project Manager Design & Construction

12 month Fixed Term Contract

In this role you will be responsible for leading the delivery of a programme of complex healthcare capital projects at King Edward VII Hospital ensuring exceptional standards in programme management clinical design integration and construction delivery. Operating onsite in central London you will oversee end-to-end delivery of this programme of hospital upgrades.

  • Lead the development of a consistent and high-performing centre of excellence in healthcare capital project management enhancing capability methodology and delivery approaches across hospital and clinical environments
  • Oversee healthcare property and capital project management in alignment with clinical standards healthcare design guidance sustainability frameworks and all statutory and regulatory requirements relevant to hospital facilities
  • Establish and maintain key stakeholder relationships across clinical teams and with external partners including healthcare planners architects engineers cost consultants and construction delivery partners to enable effective project delivery governance and issue resolution
  • Collaborate closely with healthcare leadership estates and infrastructure teams to ensure projects meet clinical operational requirements patient safety standards quality expectations and are delivered on time and within budget
  • Contribute to and leverage a broader healthcare property and infrastructure network supporting the adoption of emerging healthcare design practices digital technologies and sustainable solutions to improve hospital environments
  • Ensure robust financial management monitoring and reporting of capital expenditure across hospital projects maintaining alignment with approved budgets and funding controls
  • Provide effective leadership to project teams fostering a culture of safety quality collaboration and high performance within live healthcare environments
  • Ensure compliance with all healthcare-specific legislation codes of practice and regulatory standards
  • Apply robust risk management practices proactively identifying and mitigating risks associated with delivering projects in complex live clinical settings while maintaining hands-on oversight of day-to-day delivery activities

What youll bring

  • In depth understanding of Design & Construction project delivery including practical experience of delivering projects in healthcare
  • Design & Construction project management track record including project planning and implementation financial control the assessment of contract strategies contract supervision safety and associated environmental management
  • Experienced in the use of the normal range of business and project management software
  • A good working knowledge of the Construction Design and Management Regulations with demonstrable experience of site safety management
  • Ability to cope with fast-paced refurbishment programmes & strategic programmes over multi year periods within the healthcare sector
  • Experienced in the management of main contractors during the delivery phase monitoring progress quality and safety aspects of the contract and dealing robustly with deviations.
