Working Arrangement Due to the building management focussed role this is a post with little/no ability to work in a hybrid fashion. The successful applicant will be expected to base themselves in the office during core office hours.

Overview
Are you a dynamic individual who is keen to support the safety and security of the Scottish Government estate and drive a positive safety culture across your teams
All areas of Facilities Management support the safety security of people and SG. The Delivery Teams particularly focus on the safety and security of the core buildings working with customers at all levels of the organisation and their external visitors.
You will be based in the office working with your on-site team and colleagues. You will also participate in a rota ensuring there is a continuous management presence during working hours.
Due to the nature of the role and the information which this post holder may be exposed to you will be required to go through Security Clearance (SC).
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities
- Leadership of all site service delivery teams within your remit with direct line management for the delivery managers.
- Oversight for the smooth running of your remit ensuring areas of responsibility are delivered in accordance with corporate practices/policies e.g. operational fire management. Ensure corporate facilities and safety policies are implemented. Escalate concerns to subject-matter experts.
- Oversee assurance of statutory regulatory and professional requirements within service remit.
- Ensure business continuity and incident response plans are in place and correctly exercised with actions arising taken forward.
- Ensure safety and security plans are in place and that buildings fire safety and emergency procedures meet guidelines.
- As directed assist with investigation of relevant incidents.
- Provide oversight of services ensuring the best quality of service and excellent customer communications to all levels of the organisation and their visitors this will include providing a visible presence on site.
- Acts as the senior escalation point for issues raised across responsible sites and troubleshoot significant operational/service delivery issues with guidance from subject-matter experts such as Contract Management.
- Provide oversight of key relationship management with stakeholders including tenants & suppliers at all levels of their organisations. Ensure all issues are discussed and shared with relevant teams.
- Provide oversight of local management of key suppliers able to support negotiations management of escalation issues. Ensuring all issues are escalated or reported to relevant managers.
- Ensure that all services develop and implement operational strategies policies and procedures in line with operational requirements.

Security orProperty Professional Expertise You will be familiar with the main processes for facilities or security operations management. You will understand the business context in which policies procedures and guidelines sit. You will be experienced in implementing facilities or security operations management processes and procedures.

Qualifications
The post holder must hold a current SIA Level 3 or equivalent or be prepared to undergo and successfully complete appropriate training to obtain this (all costs will be met by SG and training will be within paid working hours).
Working Pattern
Our standard hours are 35 hours per week. This post requires you to work in-person in St Andrews House during the working week.
