Youll be joining Carta Laws UK Contracts team as a subject-matter expert in pre-M&A contract law. Carta Law is the largest AI-native law firm for private capital born from the combination of Avantia Law and Carta. Our lawyers and paralegals work alongside embedded AI agents to deliver investor onboarding transaction KYC and high-volume legal work with a speed and consistency traditional firms cant match. As a Senior Contract Lawyer youll lead high-value negotiations own key client relationships and play a significant role in developing our more junior lawyers and the wider paralegal team.

• Lead the negotiation of high-value complex pre-M&A contracts and multi-party agreements across the client portfolio.
• Own and independently manage key client relationships with sophisticated investment fund and asset manager clients.
• Manage external counsel instructions and supervision across relevant matters.
• Drive continuous improvement of Cartas legal technology suite including Carta Ava identifying piloting and embedding new capabilities.
• Mentor and develop E4 Contract Lawyers and senior paralegals reviewing their work and providing structured feedback.
• Own and evolve the firm-wide standard clause library and cross-client playbook framework.

• Senior practitioner. Youre licensed to practise law in the UK Europe US or Canada with 5 PQE.
• Complex negotiator. You have a track record independently leading complex pre-M&A negotiations including cross-border and multi-jurisdictional matters.
• Trusted advisor. You build and sustain trusted advisor status with sophisticated financial services clients and lead senior stakeholder engagement.
• Tech innovator. Youre an expert user of Carta Ava HighQ and CLM/e-signature platforms and you drive AI/legal tech adoption across the team.
• Mentor and leader. You develop junior team members with structured feedback and contribute to team strategy and resourcing.
• Commercially sharp.You align legal advice with business objectives and manage external counsel spend effectively.
