What are we looking for

Cleveland Clinic London are looking to recruit a Senior Clinical Pharmacist Oncology to join our Pharmacy team with a salary from 63000 onwards depending on experience.

While our Oncology Centre is in development we are looking to bring in a Senior Clinical Pharmacist with experience in Oncology onboard to help us establish the necessary guidelines policies and protocols ahead of opening.

Whilst we are in this phase of setting up the service working hours will be mutually agreed between the Lead Pharmacist Oncology and postholder.

As the oncology service develops the postholder will transition into a clinical patient-facing role. Working patterns will evolve in line with service requirements and the postholder will be expected to adapt to support the expanding oncology pharmacy team including overtime on-call night and weekend working where required.

Reporting to the Lead Oncology Pharmacist the Senior Clinical Pharmacist Oncology will provide a highly specialised patient-centred clinical pharmacy service to the oncology institute. The post-holder will deliver expert pharmaceutical care across inpatient wards chemotherapy day units and outpatient clinics undertaking clinical screening of systemic anti-cancer therapy (SACT) prescriptions leading on medicines governance and guideline development within oncology. The role also encompasses a leadership and education function supporting the development of junior pharmacists and the wider multidisciplinary team.

What will your duties include

• Contribute to the development and implementation of pharmacy service standards guidelines and care pathways relevant to oncology.

• Support the introduction of new medicines commissioning decisions and treatment protocols in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.

• Lead the day-to-day clinical pharmacy service to oncology and haematology patients across inpatient wards the chemotherapy day unit and outpatient clinics.

• Act as an authorised pharmacist in the pharmacy aseptic unit undertaking prescription validation and release of chemotherapy biological and CIVAS products.

• Development and maintenance of up-to-date oncology pharmaceutical guidelines protocols and Patient Group Directions.

What we need from you

• Completion of a masters degree in pharmacy (or equivalent) (essential).

• Post graduate clinical diploma in clinical pharmacy (hospital) or equivalent experience (essential).

• Full registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) (essential).

• BOPA passport - level 2c adult solid tumour and haematology modules (desirable).

• Significant experience in oncology and/or haematology pharmacy (essential).

• Experience of clinical verification of SACT prescriptions (essential).
