About the area

The Student Conduct and Resolution Centre (SCRC) sits within the Directorate of Student Life and Community in the Education and Student Experience Portfolio. The SCRC works collaboratively across the University to promote integrity accountability respectful behaviour and a safe inclusive community. The Centre provides strategic oversight and operational management of complaint resolution and student conduct matters delivering student-centred trauma-informed and educative approaches to investigations early intervention restorative practices and alternative resolution pathways.

About the opportunity

  • Lead and manage complex complaint grievance and student discipline matters including sensitive cases involving gender-based violence using trauma-informed and procedurally fair approaches.
  • Provide expert advice to senior leaders and stakeholders on case management investigations risk mitigation strategies and compliance with relevant legislation University policy and the National Higher Education Code to Prevent and Respond to Gender-based Violence.
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives continuous improvement projects capability development and the enhancement of case management frameworks systems and practices across the University.

About you

  • Relevant tertiary qualification and substantial experience managing complex end-to-end case management complaint resolution and investigation processes.
  • Demonstrated expertise in conducting investigations providing high-level advice and managing sensitive and confidential matters within complex organisational environments.
  • Strong understanding of legislative regulatory and policy frameworks with the ability to interpret requirements and apply best-practice investigation and case management principles.
  • Excellent written communication skills with proven ability to prepare high-quality investigation reports recommendations briefings and stakeholder correspondence.
  • Highly developed interpersonal consultation and stakeholder management skills with the ability to build effective relationships and work collaboratively while exercising sound judgement and initiative.

Note: Employment checks will include information on gender-based violence sexual harassment and related misconduct to meet legal obligations. A current National Police Clearance and Working with Children Check will be required by the successful applicant.
