Job Summary

Senior Care Assistant (Days). The Oaks Care Home

  • Hourly Rate: £15.03
  • Hours Per Week: 44 (4 shifts per week)
  • Shifts: 8am-8pm

Join us at The Oaks Care Home part of the Sandstone Care Group. Situated in Newtown Powys this luxurious 73-bed purpose-built nursing and residential home opened in January 2020 and offers state-of-the-art facilities. These include a coffee shop/bistro hair & nail salon activities room landscaped gardens and advanced care technology.

As a Senior Care Assistant you will take on a leadership role ensuring the highest standards of care and support for our residents. Your key responsibilities include:

  • Personalised Care: Assisting residents with personal care hygiene meals and daily activities while promoting dignity and independence.
  • Companionship: Offering emotional support and fostering meaningful relationships.
  • Leadership Duties: Supervising and mentoring care staff conducting appraisals supervisions and interviews administering medication and maintaining accurate records and supporting care planning audits and liaising with healthcare professionals.
  • Promoting Wellbeing: Encouraging residents to engage in activities that enrich their lives tailored to their interests and abilities.
  • Upholding Standards: Ensuring the care home environment is safe clean and welcoming.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking an experienced compassionate leader with a passion for elderly care. Ideal candidates will have:

  • Proven supervisory or leadership experience in a residential or nursing home setting.
  • A warm positive personality and a calm professional approach under pressure.
  • A Level 3 Health & Social Care qualification (or willingness to achieve it).
  • Confidence with record-keeping and using technology.
  • Flexibility to adapt to the needs of residents and the home.
