Job Summary

Your role: The Senior Business Analyst is a senior analytical voice at the intersection of product thinking commercial analysis and delivery execution. This role sets the standard of excellence for analysis personally leads work on the most complex and highest-risk initiatives and manages and develops other BAs working alongside them. The right person brings a product and user-problems mindset uses AI as a daily practice tool and is as comfortable influencing a roadmap as they are writing a user flow.

Your team: The Sun comprises digital product teams supporting development and enhancement of The Sun Website The Sun Mobile App and The Sun membership products. Evolving these products are critical to the continued success of the brand. We are an agile cross-functional programme working together to ensure the digital products can continue to meet the needs of the business and customers by improving the user experience underlying platform and operational tools for teams.

Day to day you will:

  • Own the end-to-end discovery lifecycle on complex initiatives owning the analysis from problem definition through to a build-ready solution.

  • Build strong relationships with key executive stakeholders and align stakeholders and squads around objective data and evidence leading workshops to drive rapid agreement on goals priorities and scope.

  • Proactively contribute to and adopt the standard of excellence for analysis defining and embedding templates methodologies and metric accountability frameworks that ensure consistency and quality.

  • Directly manage and/or mentor other BAs building individual capability in product thinking AI fluency post-launch validation and commercial framing.

  • Work closely with the Lead Business Analyst to maintain a view of programme priorities and ensure analytical effort is directed to the highest-value initiatives and not absorbed by low-value work.

  • Act as the connective tissue ensuring logic and decisions across its initiatives are consistent and dont create downstream problems for other teams.

  • Apply commercial literacy to connect analysis to revenue impact cost trade-offs and business opportunity - framing recommendations in ways that actively steer roadmap and product decisions

  • Leverage AI effectively in their daily work and continuously identifying new opportunities to improve analytical speed and quality

What were looking for from you:

You will join The Sun Customer Product team acting as a strategic partner to Technology Marketing and other Customer teams. Operating at the heart of our most critical teams you will drive initiatives across the entire subscriber lifecycle. Hence we are looking for someone who has:

  • Experienced leading discovery analysis on complex high-risk product initiatives with a track record of translating ambiguous problems into clear executable logic and requirements.

  • Proven ability to operate at senior stakeholder level - building strong trusted relationships with executive stakeholders framing analysis in commercial terms and driving rapid decision-making on high-stakes trade-offs

  • Experience managing and developing Business Analysts with demonstrable success in shifting ways of working toward higher-value more product-led analysis. Where required actively support hiring for additional contract resource from designing assessments through to evaluating and interviewing candidates

  • Strong analytical literacy - able to connect analytical findings to revenue impact cost to serve and business opportunity and communicate this fluently to non-analytical audiences

  • Experience contributing to or improving practice standards templates or methodologies at team or programme level

  • Ability to maintain a clear view of priorities and proactively allocate analytical effort to where it will have the greatest impact

  • Awareness of competitive product landscapes with the ability to incorporate competitor intelligence into strategic decisions and discovery planning

  • Advanced demonstrable use of AI tools in analytical work - including experience building or formalising AI workflows or productivity standards for a team
