Working pattern: This is a term-time post working 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday) over 43 weeks during our term time. Annual leave is expected to be taken during our recess periods. This is a hybrid role predominantly working from Holyrood but on occasion from home.

About the role

This is an excellent opportunity to join the Broadcasting Office as a Senior Broadcast Operator Engineer. The Broadcasting office forms part our Parliamentary Business directorate of the Parliament. To see where the office sits within the organisation you can view our organisation chart here.

The Broadcasting Office plays a critical role in Scottish democracy. The office is responsible for televising streaming and archiving all public proceedings and events operating and maintaining complex hybrid conferencing systems and production of a range of digital products providing transparency and accessibility to everyone. It delivers live feeds to national and international media as well as stream content directly to the public through and various online channels. Beyond core parliamentary business the office also manages a variety of televised and webcast public events. This requires a creative and strategic approach to ensure compelling coverage.

As Senior Broadcast Operator Engineer youll be part of a team ensuring the flawless operation and maintenance of a wide range broadcast systems and equipment in committees and Debating Chamber as required.

About you

The successful candidate will be experienced in engineering support of broadcasting equipment. Youll demonstrate a high level of personal credibility with excellent communication and influencing skills with the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships.

Stage 2

If your application is successful youll be invited to attend an assessment and in-person interview. The assessments and interviews are expected to take place on the same day week commencing 26 and 27 October although this is subject to change.

Offers will be awarded based on merit. For this role the following weighting is used to come to a final score on which offers will be based. Application 20% Assessment 20% Interview 60%.
