TPF Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a friendly informal and growing accountancy practice based in Lewes East Sussex with the recruitment of an experienced Senior Bookkeeper.
Our client works with a diverse portfolio of small and medium sized businesses with a particular focus on clients within the Arts and Media Professional Services and Charity sectors. As the practice continues to grow they are looking to appoint a Senior Bookkeeper to join their team and provide high-quality bookkeeping services to a varied client portfolio.
The Role
Working closely with clients and the wider practice team you will be responsible for managing bookkeeping activities across a range of sole traders and limited companies. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced bookkeeping professional seeking a long-term role within a supportive and expanding practice.
Key Responsibilities
- General bookkeeping for a portfolio of Sole Traders and Limited Companies
- Preparation and submission of VAT returns
- Posting and managing prepayments and accruals
- Preparation of management accounts
- Maintaining accurate financial records and reconciliations
- Liaising directly with clients and providing an excellent level of service
- Working with cloud-based accounting software including Xero and QuickBooks
Requirements
Essential Requirements:
- Recent bookkeeping experience gained within an accountancy practice environment
- Strong bookkeeping knowledge and technical ability
- Experience preparing VAT returns and management accounts
- Confident posting prepayments and accruals
- Experience using cloud accounting software ideally Xero and QuickBooks
Desirable:
- At least 1 year of accountancy practice experience
- Personal Attributes
- Client focused with excellent communication skills
- High level of attention to detail
- Strong IT skills
- Well organised and able to manage multiple deadlines
- Proactive reliable and able to work independently
Benefits
Salary of 30000 to 34000 per annum
Hybrid working arrangement with up to 2 days working from home
