Senior Back End Engineer

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer specialising in Back End development to join Royal Londons Digital Team. Youll use your technical expertise to design develop test and deliver high-quality software solutions that support our business and customer needs.

Working as part of a collaborative engineering team youll take ownership of complex back-end solutions while helping to maintain and improve our engineering standards and ways of working.

• Design and develop robust scalable back-end solutions that meet business and customer requirements.
• Deliver complex technical changes assessing the impact on existing applications and services.
• Design and develop APIs microservices and event-driven solutions.
• Develop high-quality code supported by automated testing and engineering best practice.
• Collaborate with engineers testers architecture and wider delivery teams to deliver solutions safely into production.
• Review code share technical knowledge and contribute ideas that improve engineering quality and ways of working.

• Strong enterprise development experience using Java and C#.
• Experience developing REST APIs and microservices with knowledge of event-driven technologies.
• Experience working with persistence and caching technologies including SQL Server databases.
• Strong understanding of automated testing practices and the full software development lifecycle.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to contribute to technical discussions and engineering decisions.
• Experience working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams while taking ownership of your own delivery.
