Senior Accountant

Role: Accountant
Location: Hull
Salary:Up to 35000 (DOE)

This is an excellent opportunity to join a long established independent accountancy practice in Hull offering broad all round exposure across accounts bookkeeping VAT & payroll within a supportive and collaborative team environment.

The firm is looking to speak with practice experienced candidates who are looking to continue developing their technical skills within a hands on role working closely with experienced team members across a varied client portfolio.

Responsibilities of the Accountant role include:

Preparing year end accounts for a varied client base
Bookkeeping duties using cloud accounting software
Preparing and submitting VAT returns
Assisting with payroll processing and related duties
Supporting clients with general accounting queries
Working closely with senior team members across a range of client work
Providing practical support to owner managed businesses

Requirements of the Accountant role include:

Previous experience working within UK accountancy practice
Ideally 23 years practice experience
Experience preparing accounts VAT returns and bookkeeping work
Strong hands on and practical approach
Good communication and organisational skills
Willingness to learn and develop technically
AAT or ACCA studies beneficial but not essential
Experience with software such as Xero Sage or QuickBooks desirable
