Working closely with the SENCo class teachers and external specialists you will deliver tailored 1:1 and small-group interventions for pupils with needs such as Autism (ASD) ADHD Dyslexia and speech and language difficulties. This is a rewarding hands-on role suited to a patient organized and adaptable individual.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with diverse learning sensory and behavioral needs

• Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and adapt learning materials to ensure pupils can access the curriculum effectively

• Utilize positive behavior strategies and sensory regulation techniques to keep pupils focused and engaged

• Foster pupils confidence social skills and academic independence in both classroom and break-time environments

• Track pupil progress maintain observational logs and provide regular updates to the SENCo and class teachers

• Liaise professionally with parents external therapists and pastoral leadership to ensure consistent care

• Assist the class teacher with general classroom preparation and creating an inclusive learning environment

• Support the smooth day-to-day running of the Learning Support department

Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant LSA or Learning Mentor (ideally within a school setting)

• Strong knowledge of supporting pupils with ASD ADHD SEMH or specific learning difficulties (SpLD)

• Exceptional patience emotional resilience and strong de-escalation skills

• Ability to build trusting supportive relationships with pupils staff and parents

• High attention to detail and strong organizational capabilities
