Job Summary
An excellent school in Hammersmith is seeking a dedicated and caring SEN Teaching Assistant to join its support team on a full-time basis. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping students with additional needs access learning develop confidence and achieve their potential.
The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will provide classroom small-group and one-to-one support to students with a range of special educational needs. Working closely with teachers and other support staff you will help students engage with their learning and develop greater independence.
The school is looking for someone who is patient adaptable and able to build positive relationships with students while providing consistent and encouraging support.
Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable
Experience supporting students with SEN is advantageous
A patient caring and positive approach
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to build trusting relationships with students
A proactive and flexible attitude
Ability to work effectively as part of a wider school team
Provide one-to-one and small-group support where required
Assist students with accessing lessons and completing activities
Support students academic social and emotional development
Encourage positive behaviour engagement and independence
Work closely with teachers and other members of staff
Adapt support according to individual student needs
Contribute to a positive and inclusive classroom environment
