In this full-time role you will lead a small class group planning and delivering a highly personalized creative curriculum aligned with each students Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP) targets.
Candidate Requirements
Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or PGCE alongside proven experience teaching within a specialist SEN school resource base or alternative provision.
Specialist Expertise: Deep understanding of ASC SLD and neurodiverse learning profiles with practical experience using augmentative communication tools (e.g. PECS Makaton) and sensory integration strategies.
Classroom Management: Excellent abilities in positive behavior support de-escalation techniques and creating a calm structured and predictable learning atmosphere.
Multi-Disciplinary Working: Experience collaborating closely with Speech and Language Therapists Occupational Therapists Educational Psychologists and parents to track EHCP progress.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver differentiated multi-sensory lessons across core subjects and functional life skills tailored to individual EHCP outcomes.
Lead a dedicated team of classroom Teaching Assistants managing daily routines targeted interventions and personal care plans safely and respectfully.
Monitor pupil progress write comprehensive review reports and lead EHCP annual review meetings.
Promote personal development self-regulation social communication and independent living skills across all learning activities.
