Role Overview
A dedicated and forward-thinking school in Wokingham is seeking a compassionate and skilled SEN Teacher to join their specialist learning team this rewarding role you will teach pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD). You will deliver a highly tailored and engaging curriculum designed to promote confidence personal achievement and essential life skills within a calm supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Design and deliver personalized highly differentiated learning activities mapped directly to pupils EHCP (Education Health and Care Plan) outcomes.
Work closely with support staff the SENCo and external specialistssuch as occupational therapists and speech and language practitionersto provide holistic student support.
Track small-step academic and personal progress adjusting strategies to ensure every child reaches their potential.
Establish a structured positive classroom environment utilizing proactive de-escalation strategies and nurturing approaches.
Key Requirements
Bachelors degree in Education Special Educational Needs or a relevant discipline.
Recognized UK teaching qualification with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or QTLS.
Practical experience teaching or supporting children with complex educational needs and varied learning profiles.
Strong working knowledge of EHCP processes positive behavior support and adaptive teaching methods.
Legal right to work in the UK.
