Esland Daven School is an established specialist provision supporting children and young people aged 818 with SEND and SEMH needs. We are seeking a committed and skilled SEN Teacher to work primarily with primary level pupils. We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience phonics.

As a SEN Teacher you will play a key part in delivering meaningful wellplanned learning that places relationships emotional safety and progress at its heart.
You will be supported to:
Plan and deliver engaging lessons across core subjects tailored to individual needs
Work with Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) to support both academic and personal development
Contribute to EHCP reviews and PEP meetings with clear leadership guidance
Create a calm safe and inclusive classroom environment
Work closely with teaching assistants pastoral staff families and external professionals
Promote safeguarding and pupil wellbeing with strong systems and senior support in place
While flexibility and teamwork are central to working in a specialist setting responsibilities will always be appropriate to the role and backed by senior leaders ensuring expectations are realistic and sustainable

Requirements for a SEN Teacher:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree
Experience teaching primary level across a range of subjects
An understanding of SEND particularly SEMH
Experience of teaching at primary level
Experience in phonics
Strong inclusive teaching and behavioursupport strategies
A clear commitment to safeguarding and pupil welfare
A calm reflective and relationshipfocused approach
Excellent communication and team working skills
A commitment to learning development and good practice
