Semi Senior Accountant

Salary: Up to 35000 depending on experience

Are you an experienced Semi Senior Accountant looking to join a modern and forward-thinking accountancy practice where youll have the opportunity to manage a varied client portfolio develop your technical skills and work within a flexible and supportive environment

An established accountancy practice in York is looking to recruit a Semi Senior Accountant to support continued growth and provide high-quality accountancy services to a diverse client base.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous practice experience who is looking for a role offering variety genuine progression and the chance to build strong client relationships.

Working as part of the accounts team youll be responsible for supporting a portfolio of clients across a range of sectors.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing year-end accounts for sole traders partnerships and limited companies

• Completing VAT returns

• Assisting with corporation tax and personal tax compliance

• Reviewing bookkeeping information and supporting clients with queries

• Building and maintaining strong client relationships

• Communicating directly with clients to provide support and advice

• Working closely with senior members of the team

• Taking increasing responsibility for your own client portfolio

Youll ideally have previous experience working within an accountancy practice and be looking for the next step in your career.

Youll have:

• Previous practice accountancy experience

• Experience preparing accounts for a variety of clients

• Good knowledge of VAT and general practice accounting

• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills

• Excellent communication skills

• A proactive approach and willingness to develop

The role would suit someone who is:

• AAT qualified or working towards further qualifications

• ACA/ACCA part-qualified

• Qualified by experience (QBE)

The firm offers a flexible approach to working including:

• Hybrid working with 1 day per week working from home

• Part-time hours considered for the right candidate

• Flexible working hours with core hours between 10am and 4pm

• Ability to start and finish flexibly between 7am and 6pm provided contracted hours are completed
