Role: SEMH English Lead Teacher
Salary: up to 41137 (depending on experience and qualifications) plus 3000 subject lead allowance
Location: Congleton Cheshire
Contract: permanent
Hours: full time (core hours 8:30am to 4:40pm Monday to Friday)

This is an exciting and fantastic opportunity to be part of the senior team of our highly sought after specialist provision supporting vulnerable young people aged 7 to 18 years who have SEND and SEMH needs.

The role:


As a SEN Teacher and subject lead youll play a key role in delivering high-quality engaging lessons tailored to individual needs. You will:
  • Plan and deliver lessons across the schools English department
  • Be responsible for upskilling and training staff
  • Ensure baseline is completed
  • Provide phonics and literacy intervention
  • Have over sight of reading strategies
  • Support pupils academic and personal development through Individual Learning Plans (ILPs)
  • Contribute to EHCP reviews and PEP meetings
  • Foster a safe inclusive and supportive learning environment
  • Work closely with colleagues families and external agencies
  • Promote safeguarding and wellbeing at all times

Requirements for a SEN Lead Teacher:


Essential:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree
  • A minimum of 2 years post graduation experience
  • Strong understanding of SEND and SEMH
  • Knowledge of assessment frameworks and progress tracking
  • Excellent behaviour management and inclusive teaching strategies
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare

Desirable:
  • Subject/Department leader experience (or acting leadership experience)
  • Experience in teaching across alternative subjects (and a willingness to support other departments as the team grows)
