Summary of role

We operate in a rapidly evolving cyber landscape working to protect the nation from malicious actors. As a Scrum Master you will play a key role in enabling fast secure delivery and accelerating our ability to analyse and respond to emerging threats.

We are recruiting Scrum Masters to support our journey to provide maximum threat reduction across the globe. Working directly with our delivery teams you will play a significant part in our vision. You will also receive plenty of support formal and on-the-job training and ongoing professional development. Youll be supported with ongoing development to shape your career in the direction you choose.

Due to the interesting work we do and the sector we are working in we require all candidates to currently hold eDV clearance.

Key responsibilities

Facilitate key Scrum events and regular team health checks
Promote encourage and embed Agile principles within the team and organisation
Bring those more resistant to Agile ways of working along the journey towards true Agility and embrace their feedback
Ensure value-driven delivery defining value within your teams context and coaching them in how to break work down to achieve the most value
Proactively identify and remove impediments - thinking outside the box welcomed
Help teams to mature in their Agile practices
Foster a safe space for the team to experiment celebrate success and failure be candid and to fail fast
Empower the team to problem solve
Support negotiation and conflict resolution
Foster positive and collaborative relationships across teams and organisations
Support the Product Owner with backlog prioritisation creation of product goals and vision
Coaching advocate supporting both Scrum teams and the wider organisation in adopting Agile practices
Champion best practices and continually seek ways to improve the team delivery and self

Who are we looking for

Strong facilitation and coaching skills with the ability to guide teams through complex challenges
Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum Kanban or similar)
Knowledge and demonstrable application of Agile fundamentals
Ability to influence without authority
Scrum certification (e.g. CSM PSM)
Keenness to learn collaborate and share best practices across the business and customers through our active Communities of Practices
Appreciation of latest technology trends and desire to explore software development models
Ability to effectively manage stakeholders and build relationships
Passionate about embracing and encouraging continuous improvement and innovation

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees as they are essential to the development of our products.

Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). If you live within a reasonable commute of an RTX site with other colleagues you interact with your manager will discuss whether there is a degree of onsite presence associated with this role.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles commuting to and from the assigned site is the employees personal responsibility.

Requires advanced knowledge of work area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. May have practical knowledge of project
management. Practical to substantial knowledge of RTX projects programs or systems with the ability to make enhancements and leverage in daily work.

Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience

Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree in ScienceTechnology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
