In this vital academic support role you will be the driving force behind our practical chemistry biology and physics lessons ensuring that teachers and high-ability students have impeccably prepared apparatus and safe cutting-edge resources to fuel their scientific curiosity.
Working alongside the Senior Science Technician and Heads of Science you will prepare practical experiments manage chemical stocks maintain specialized laboratory instruments and uphold strict health and safety standards across our modern science labs.
Practical Lesson Preparation: Accurately assemble and test chemicals biological specimens and physics apparatus for Key Stage 3 GCSE and A-Level practicals.
Safety & COSHH Management: Maintain rigorous compliance with CLEAPSS guidelines manage chemical storage inventories and ensure safe disposal of hazardous waste.
Equipment Maintenance: Clean service and calibrate sensitive laboratory equipment glassware balances and optical microscopes.
Stock & Resource Ordering: Monitor departmental consumable stocks source reliable suppliers and manage equipment procurement within budget.
Classroom Support: Assist teaching staff during complex demonstrations offering technical troubleshooting and student guidance where needed.
