The Role
The successful candidate will provide essential technical and practical support to the science department helping teachers deliver safe well-resourced and engaging lessons. You will play an important part in the smooth running of the department and the preparation of practical activities.
Key responsibilities include:
Preparing and setting up equipment materials and resources for science lessons.
Supporting teachers with practical experiments and demonstrations.
Maintaining cleaning and organising laboratory equipment and workspaces.
Monitoring stock levels and assisting with ordering supplies.
Following health and safety procedures including safe storage and handling of materials.
Checking equipment for damage and reporting faults or maintenance requirements.
Helping ensure laboratories are safe tidy and ready for lessons.
Experience and Qualifications
The school is looking for a dependable and detail-oriented individual with good practical skills and an interest in science. Previous experience in a laboratory science department or similar technical role would be beneficial although candidates with transferable skills may also be considered.
You should be organised able to manage a varied workload and confident working both independently and as part of a team. A responsible approach to health and safety is essential.
